v0.5.0 · released 8 October 2026 · MIT

Download Fahh Editor.

Free, open source, and fully local: no account, no server. Published by Stealth Keqing.

The installers are not code-signed yet, so Windows and macOS ask before the first launch. The steps are under each download.

Pick your system.

Windows

your system

x64 // Windows 10 and 11 // WebView2

SmartScreen shows "Windows protected your PC": choose More info, then Run anyway. The .exe installs for your user account only, without administrator rights.

macOS

Apple silicon and Intel // .dmg

Gatekeeper blocks the first launch of an unsigned app: right-click Fahh Editor in Applications, choose Open, then Open again.

Or skip the browser.

What you get today.

Works

  • Monaco, the editor inside VS Code, with tabs and Ctrl+S
  • Diagnostics from 18 language servers, and the sound
  • Previews for Markdown (live, scroll-synced), HTML, images, SVG and CSV
  • A built-in browser for localhost: open the dev server your terminal just started
  • AI panel for any OpenAI-compatible endpoint, with Apply-to-file for code blocks
  • Quick Open (Ctrl+P), and a terminal where cd sticks
  • File tree with create, rename and delete
  • Terminal, and a Run panel for 19 languages (their runtimes installed)
  • Git: status, diff, stage, unstage, commit
  • Six themes, a first-run welcome, and an optional-tools installer

In progress

  • Completion, hover and go-to-definition from the language servers
  • The step-through debugger (the panel is there; the event handling is not finished)
  • Code signing for the installers

Try it in the browser.

The playground runs Python (with Pyodide), JavaScript and TypeScript on this page, and plays the sound when your code throws.
